Research report No.2 Sociometry by Boonying Charoenying 1960 The purpose of this research was to study social development of pupils in the same class. The sampleconsisted of 212 second, third, and fourth graders attonding four schools in Bangkok and Thanburi. Therewere 10 questions in the sociometric test. They were about pupils' choices of friends and those notwanted as friends, guessing who would select on and not select one as friend, choices of play group leaderand classroom leader, guessing who the teacher would and would not choose as classroom leader andinforming who one would not choose as classroom leader. It was found that those selected as friends more likely to be selected as classroom leaders. The findingsalso suggested that the higher the grade level, the more similar the criteria to choose friends and leadersbecame.
