Research Abstract No. 69 A creating of database for measuring instruments in behavioral science research By Asst. Prof. Laddawan Kasemnet -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The purpose of this research are to create a database of measuing instruments in behavioral science research and to provide a service of the database. There are 294 insttuments extraeted from the BSRI research report number 14 - 48 (B.E.2516 - 2535) and master theses in applied behavioral science research of Srinakharinwirot University duving B.E. 2530 - 2535, The total number of information are 35 research reports and 27 master theses. The information in research database are as follows : 1. A name of the instrument. 2. Source of references. 3. Sourch of the tools. 4. The purposes in creating up of the measuring tools. 5. The objective of the instrument. 6. Form of quwstions and scaing. 7. The quality of the tools. 8. A sample or a tarket group 9. Time of administrating the instrument. 10. Tool example. In order to canefrect the database, the following stups had been dane Firstly, data ocding form was deaigened. Secondly, researcher assistent collested data. Thirdly a relational database was created using FoxPro Soglwar. Finally, a database was tested for its functiding and user fricadly purpose before the final databuse was installed at the BSRI. The first step in data collecting can be done by data forms that designed for this purposes. The second step these data forms can be put in the computer program (data entry). The researcher use Fox-Pro Softwer to creat data base. Research products are as belows : 1. The database BSRI comprised 3 main menus. The first menu called data entry perment users to correctig, omitting delete' redeveloping or update the alatabase. The second menu called data searching and data checking. It works by searching or looking for the instrument name, sources of references and groups tarket, or its combination as a keyword in searching. Third menu called report printing. Users can print the full or a part of the reeseilt froms scaning. 2. The mannal of the BSRI sansistell of : installortim manual and user manual a instrument. The BSRI database was installed at Behavioral Science Institute, Srinakharinwirot University, Prasanmit.
